While Vera is still learning the ropes of swimming, she's still a pro at stealing (or trying to) anything and everything Sylvie retrieves. If it's a bird, she's gotta have it. A stick? Just as good in the eyes of Vera- anything that Sylvie brings in has got to be a wonderful steal!
